  • Silverdale Junior Rugby hopes to raise $10000 to be put towards our Floodlight Fundraising initiative.

Date and Location:

  • Saturday 14th September 2024 at Silverdale Rugby Club.
  • Game start at 9:am and will be completed by 4:00pm latest

​​​​​​​Eligibility:

  • All players must meet the North Harbour Junior rugby regulations for age and weight. Male players cannot be attending College (year 9 upwards). *
  • (College students U15/U13 Girls Rippa players eligible)

Grades:

  • Tens Tackle Grades: J1 (Under 13’s), J2 (Under 12’s), J3 (Under 11’s), J4 (Under 10’s)
  • Girls Rip 7’s: Girls Rip (U15), Girls Rip (U13), Girls Rip (U11)

All teams must Enter Online -browse to Junior Tens on our website

  • Managers can also RSVP to juniorrugby@silverdalerugby.co.nz by 6th September.
  • All registration fees must be paid in full by 8th September
  • Team Sheets must be completed by the morning of the event
  • Weigh-in takes place on the morning 1 hours before the team’s game.
  • $350 per team Tens Tackle
  • $300 per team Girls Rip Sevens
  • Teams can enter ONLINE in the links above. If making payment via direct transfer please make one team payment – to 02-1298-0090292-000 (please put “JNR Tens” or “JNR Sevens” and your team name as reference).

Specials & Dispensations

  • In all grades, players in the youngest age bracket can be open weight. Open weight players who exceed the ’special’ weights for any grade during the season are to be notified by their club as a ‘special’ and are subject to the following guidelines to ensure the safety and development of all players:
  • Maximum of 2 specials per squad
  • Maximum of 1 special per team on the field during play
  • Specials must wear red socks
  • Specials cannot be used to dominate play or team tactics. I.e. lead rushes from free kicks or penalties.

Format:

  • Each Grade, dependant on number of entries will play a “round robin” ensuring all teams play a minimum of 3 games on the day.

Abbreviated Game Rules:

  • J1 (u13’s), J2 (u12’s) Full Field
  • J3 (U11’s), J4 (U10’s), Girls Rip (U15, 13 & 11) – Half Field
  • Each squad must have a minimum of 12 players for Tens Tackle, and 10 players minimum for Girls Rip Sevens. (Half game rule applies.)
  • 10-minute halves - 2-minute half time break
  • Conversions drop kick – J3, J4 in front of post. All others up to 15m (conversion must be taken within 40 seconds).
  • Scrums J3, J4 uncontested. J1, J2 contested. Backlines back 5m. Halfback must not pass the tunnel
  • Lineouts – non contested, no lifting. Backlines back 10m
  • Kick offs – scoring team kicks off
  • Tackles – below sternum
  • Penalties – Opposition back 10m
  • Ball – J3, J4 and Girls U11 size 3. J1, J2 and Girls U13/15 size 4
